I have been fooling a bit with blackout poems again and had the idea of working it into a Mondrian style image. These are two of the final images. I like the way the words are hidden in the overall graphic-ness, and yet at the same time seem able to claim their own space.
I made one more opaque than the other to let the original type show through, just enough to let the viewer see that the base was an already complete page of text. The other was already blacked out, so I worked with what I had. It is a bit rougher, but I can edited out those spots and smooth the edges. I think I will work with this style for a bit and see where it leads.
