The quickness of August

It has been another month that has sped by, leaving bits of summer scattered here and there. As I gear up to launch the website I have been hard at work getting my filming skills smoothed out and whittling my to do list down. It is a stretch filled with the nervousness that come with leaving the comfort zone, and the thrill that keeps things moving along. It has felt like the list of things that need doing is unending, but of course it isn’t, each item checked off is another step in the process.

There is a lot of trust you place in the universe as the busywork of change is going on. You work on what you can, hire out what you can’t, and hope it all comes together in the end. It requires a new agility in the thought process too, which I have found leaves me open to new ideas and ways of doing things. Onward and upward!

Getting somewhere?

Much like this little pollinator I have been busy the past couple days getting online course videos done, uploading them, finding typos in the form, trying to figure how to access, fix, and resave them. It has been a mainly fruitless task as deletion is the only option offered, no rewrites or write overs will take. To say it has been frustrating is to scratch the surface. It can be hard to go with delete and see all the work disappear, but staying in the “futile to save” loop is an exercise in futility. Of course delete does not always work either, and then things are left in a state of limbo requiring a tech call to handle it. Needless to say, 3 days later that is the route I have had to go in the hopes that they can remove the offending courses that I can’t override. Sigh. It is all part of the process, though this weekend it has felt like a process with no forward gains.

Rounding out the week

It is Friday, that is not the surprise, that it is the first Friday in August is. The summer is sliding by at an alarming rate, perhaps because on the ongoing issues with Covid, or due to my extra work hours, or even because I have been busy in general. Whatever the reason we, will want to savor these days and late evenings. I am trying to squeeze in so much this summer, day trips, hikes, DIY fixes, home improvement, website, classes, art, regular work, and so on. This has had the opposite effect of what I hoped, instead of feeling a fun filled sense of summer it has felt more like a constant choice between must do and want to do. I have plenty of time, just too much to fit in it!

Getting a handle

No easy task sometimes. There can be too much clamoring for attention, resolution and direction. Usually just when you think you have a handle on it, something else goes awry. It’s all a matter of timing and action I guess. Trying to figure out what needs to go first and how to handle it as efficiently as possible.

Spinning

The start of November has been full of activity. Two shows hung to start the month off, 1 hour toured, 1 opening reception held, 1 open house attended, DIY tasks completed, boxes packed, leaves raked, 1 workshop inquiry, hours spent revamping website, new brochure completed. I can only hope that the month settles down a bit as I don’t think I can keep this pace up! But I am on a mission to get things done and know I have to strike while the iron is hot as I never know when the energy might ebb or the schedule go off script. Life is funny that way, throwing up unexpected detours and dead ends on us.

The view to June

It is the final days of May yet it seems as if we are still caught in April weather. Those showers are good for the plants, but they need sun and warmth too. I have not been able to get out and enjoy the nice days as there always seems to be a laundry list of tasks to attend to, ones that just can’t be put off. Maybe June will prove more accommodating.
