The plan

Blue, green and white mixed media with text “simplicity”.

Simplicity is a moving target, life is messy and full of unexpected occurrences that send us off in new directions. I think most of us aim to keep things simple, to stick to a plan each day as best we can. Then there are the chaos sowers, who seem to cultivate disorder as a lifestyle choice. I find chaos exhausting. I don’t need complete order and routine, nor am I the magazine photo minimalist, but disorder exhausts me. My worktable is often tipping into total messiness, with scraps, supplies and projects scattered about. At that point I have to get it back in hand before I can get creating again. Pursuing simplicity is a never-ending process for me.
