A flicker of spring

Yesterday brought a flicker to the feeder, a sure sign of spring’s arrival. And a most welcome one. In spite of what the forecast is showing, spring is here. Even the goldfinch knows it and has brought friends to the feeder one by one.

The first robin also appeared, and new bird songs can be heard from the forest. Which also means I will have to start bringing in the feeder each night as the bears are starting to roam around. All is in flux.
