I went out yesterday morning, back down to the stream to see what it looked like since the season changed. It looked
about the same as it did last weekend. Not much melting had happened, just compression of the snow on the ground so I didn’t sink in shin deep. The stream was a little more open, and the snow speckled with debris from the wind we’ve had. It was, however, much colder than last weekend, the cold air had settled down at the base of the hill and the wind was steady. Gloves didn’t stay off very long.
Still I looked up and down and all around enjoying the very fresh air and the light of the spring sun.
Then I trudged back up the hill to the house, Full of energy, wiggling chilled fingers and happy to have been out.
