Next time I pass,

this house will be gone. It has sat unlived in for the 20 plus years I have taken this road back to NY for visits. I have watched as strip malls have crept closer, knowing its days were limited. The last time I went by it  there was an excavator sitting in the backyard. Based on the condition of the house it seems unlikely someone has fallen in love with it and wants to restore it to its former livability. It is an adorable house, but decades of no maintenance have taken their toll. So here it is, as it has been and will be, for just a moment more.

  1. Oh, the old houses. So many stories to tell. Mine is 100+ years old and I would never (ever) trader her for something modern. This one needed a kind heart for sure – but you have at least preserved some of her memory.
